The following is a statement from the Jewish Community Relations Council of Greater Washington.
"The Jewish Community Relations Council of Greater Washington joins Catholics in our local community and worldwide in mourning the loss of His Holiness, Pope Francis, a champion of interfaith dialogue who was committed to expanding Catholic-Jewish relations.
Pope Francis’ love of humanity and faith was felt by the Jewish community and his death will undoubtedly impact many communities of faith. His legacy of caring for the poor and transcending boundaries to enact change in this world will leave a lasting imprint.
May the memory of Pope Francis be a blessing."
