JCRC Statement in response to President Biden’s withdrawal from the 2024 presidential race

JCRC Statement

The following is a statement from Ron Halber, executive director of the Jewish Community Relations Council of Greater Washington, in response to President Biden’s withdrawal from the 2024 presidential race.

The JCRC of Greater Washington expresses its deep appreciation for President Biden’s half century of public service to our nation. In particular, we are extraordinarily grateful for his lifetime of friendship to the American Jewish community and the state of Israel — particularly over the past nine months, when Israel has faced an existential crisis and as antisemitism in the United States reached epic proportions.

President Biden’s lifetime of leadership is a testament to his character, and his commitment to public service and dedication to both his country and his family are qualities to which we should all aspire. America was founded on the ideals of freedom and liberty, and each of us must do our part to uphold those ideals. Over a lifetime of service to our nation and the world, Joe Biden has answered the call. We thank and salute him for it.
