On Thursday, Sept. 23, a bipartisan super-majority of Members of the U.S. House of Representatives voted 420-9 to support emergency funding to replenish Israel's Iron Dome aerial defense system (H.R. 5323). It is vital to TAKE ACTION NOW and thank our representatives for their strong, bipartisan support for Israel’s security.
Iron Dome is a military system whose sole purpose and capability is defensive. It is the vital first line of defense in the ongoing war against terrorists’ indiscriminate rocket fire aimed at Israeli civilians. In the little more than a decade since Iron Dome was first rushed into service, it has stopped thousands of the terror groups’ indiscriminate rocket launches from killing and maiming Israelis of all backgrounds.
On Sept. 23rd, House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer (D-MD) stressed his unwavering commitment to Israel’s security, emphasizing that this was the view shared by the White House and Congressional leaders across party lines. Majority Leader Hoyer assured Israeli Foreign Minister Yair Lapid of the continuous bipartisan support for Israel and it’s security, for which we are very appreciative.
Please TAKE ACTION BELOW and thank the U.S. Representatives from our area (Congressman Anthony Brown, Congressman Jamie Raskin, Congressman David Trone, and Congressman John Sarbanes in Maryland; Congressman Don Beyer, Congresswoman Abigail Spanberger, Congresswoman Jennifer Wexton, and Congressman Gerry Connolly in Virginia) who all voted in favor of replenishing Iron Dome and supported Israel’s right and responsibility to defend itself.
