Holocaust Speaker Opportunities
AT THE JCRC OF GREATER WASHINGTON, OUR WORK OF REMEMBRANCE, EDUCATION, AND ADVOCACY FOR HOLOCAUST SURVIVORS IS A YEAR-ROUND COMMITMENT.
Our JCRC Holocaust Speakers’ Bureau proudly provides speakers who share inspiring, personal stories of the Holocaust with schools, youth and community organizations, faith congregations and business, civic and governmental groups.
Holocaust survivors in the Greater Washington area have long generously shared their personal stories with members of the community. Our speakers share personal stories in presentations specifically designed to augment and complement the history of the Holocaust. Speakers present narratives which encourage audience connections with ONE person’s personal Holocaust experience. In cultivating personal connections, we hope to touch the minds and hearts of the next generation.
Maggid: Generations of the Shoah provides training and support to the children of survivors who wish to speak in classrooms and other settings. JCRC launched Maggid in 2022, as our population of Holocaust survivors dwindles and lack of awareness about the Shoah continues to escalate, especially among young people, maintaining and expanding Holocaust education at this critical time. Those who grew up with Holocaust Survivor parents or grandparents have unique stories to share. These speakers recount their families’ remarkable legacies, reminding us of the insidious and lasting effects of anti-semitism and genocide.
We welcome the opportunity for our speakers to address your school or organization. Presentations are designed to fit comfortably into 20-30 minute time-slots, with time for Q &A, appropriate for varied settings. Speakers are carefully selected so as to present age- and audience-appropriate materials to our audiences.
