Sharaka, meaning “partnership” in Arabic, is an organization established in the wake of the Abraham Accords to build people-to-people connections between Israelis and their neighbors across the Arab world. Their work to educate, facilitate deep engagement and build community through dialogue and shared values has never been more important.
The JCRC of Greater Washington, with the support of the Naomi and Nehemiah Cohen Foundation, is bringing members of Sharaka to our region for a three-day Scholar-in-Residence program to share their vision for a Middle East with students, business executives, elected officials, interfaith leaders and more.
Join us Thursday evening, March 20 at Washington Hebrew Congregation for a community event to learn more about Sharaka’s work, meet the brave Israelis and Arabs committed to lasting peace and hear about the launch of our Partners for Peace initiative to foster future collaborations.
Dessert reception to follow.
Registration deadline is March 14. Learn more about Sharaka here and get to know the individuals participating in our Scholar-in-Residence program below.
This program is made possible by a generous gift from the Naomi and Nehemiah Cohen Foundation.
